RVA has a new Look Book
Local artists, writers and photographers capture RVA’s character and creativity in a new book to be released October 2013
Richmond, VA – The i.e.* initiative of the Greater Richmond Chamber announces the publication of the RVA Look Book, a 228-page, hardbound tribute to the entrepreneurs, artists, visionaries and doers that make the Richmond Region an exciting place for people and organizations to grow and thrive. Produced entirely by local writers, artists, photographers and designers, the RVA Look Book invites both the initiated and the curious to meet the region’s most innovative people and companies, tour its streets and parks, and taste its culture and personality.
“Even those who thought they knew RVA will learn something new,” said Chrystal Neal, director of creativity and innovation at the Greater Richmond Chamber. “And they’ll be inspired and invigorated by the energy and vibe captured by this book. But the project’s real power will be realized in the hands of the people who aren’t familiar with the Richmond Region, the entrepreneurs, students and opportunity seekers who are looking to move to or stay in a place with real assets and real personality. That is where we see amazing things happening.”
The RVA Look Book is powered by creative prose and high-test photo essays, pulled together with razor sharp design by Lauren Boynton, masterful editing by Anoa Monsho and a herculean foreword by Valley Haggard. Printed by Chesterfield based B&B Printing, the 11 x 11 publication adheres to a high quality standard worthy of its contributors, with aqueous coated, 100 lb. text weight paper and premium binding.
Upon its release on October 31, 2013, the book will retail for $49.95. Pre-sales open on October 15, 2013, via www.ie-rva.org. The book will be available for purchase at local retailers, such as Quirk Gallery, La Difference, West Coast Kix and Fountain Bookstore, as well as online at www.ie-rva.org and at various i.e.* and Chamber events around town.
