Go Bike!: Showcase your brand during the 2015 UCI World Road Cycling Championships…and beyond

Next year, more than 1,000 athletes, 400,000 spectators and millions of television viewers will join Richmond during the 2015 UCI World Road Cycling Championships. To celebrate, i.e.* is forging an innovative partnership with the City of Richmond and local businesses to develop a permanent public art project that will:

  • Showcase business support of cycling
  • Serve as the flagship bike rack project for the City’s Master Bike Plan
  • Spotlight and support local artist/artisan talent
  • Help beautify downtown in preparation for this transformative event!
Go Bike! will install 30 custom designed bike racks in key locations in Downtown RVA. These bike racks will be functional, original works of art created by local artists and feature sponsor company branding. A public unveiling, Gala, walking tour and artist talk are just some of the events designed to bring attention to this inventive and exciting project.
This is a first come, first served project; select your company’s bike rack now! There are only 30 locations, and they will go fast because the cost to “own” a one-of-a-kind public artwork that servers as a key transportation hub in a highly visible part of the city is only $5,000, or $10,000 for a larger bike corral.
Sponsorship funds will be used to:
  • Host a design contest with a $2,500 award for the winning design that will distinguish all of the racks
  • Manufacture the winning design using a local artisan
  • Provide a $1,000 stipend to each of 30 local artists to create an original work of art based on the selected design
  • Each rack will feature a plaque with sponsor name.
If you are interested in sponsoring a rack or corral, contact Chrystal Neal.
